Philip Lim for Target launched today, and it was insane. Here are the things I picked out online:
These were purchased around 5 am, and many of the bags were already sold out. Wut. I also went in-store (at 6:45am!) and stood on line, hoping to get the mini satchel in taupe. I know this is really extreme but I was awake and already super excited after making my online purchase haha.
When I arrived, there were about ten girls on line in front of me. I honestly thought I had a 100% chance of getting the bag.
WELP, when I got in, before I could even spot the bags, they had all been grabbed furiously. This was no joke. Also, the collection was super super tiny and selection was really limited. Like, about three racks for clothing and bags total. Everyone was kind of like Seriously? This is it?
Everything was gone in a matter of minutes. I was able to grab a boom sweater in size small in case the medium I ordered is too big (yay!) but that’s about it. Then, I saw a mob of girls running. They were running towards the employees, who had brought out the restock, about three boxes of bags. These only had about 5 of each bag in them, girls were pushing and shoving and grabbing bags. It was actually kind of scary. I’m surprised no one got in a fight, although I did get cursed out by a girl who said my “hand” was in front of her. Of course this girl ended up getting a bag somehow, I guess her thirstiness won.
All in all, I’m kind of bummed about the mini satchel because it’s so freaking cute, but if I think about it practically, I would get more use out of bigger bags, which I did snag two of- so I can’t complain. Honestly I was in the front of the line so I feel really bad for the people on the end, who probably left with nothing. Then there’s always those people who hoard every size of everything in a cart until they can make up their mind. Like, why? Rude.
Good luck to all of you target shoppers today. It’s dangerous out there.
